Hey there! Thank you for popping in! :) I have had many Realtors reach out lately about my switch to Real Broker, LLC. It was a HUGE decision, that was not taken lightly. Most Realtors who make the decision to leave their current brokerage, money is the number one factor. And while yes, that did play a factor into my decision, there was SO much more that I considered. While I will briefly discuss money, let's be honest - you can find that information online.
First, I'd like to discuss where I came from. My Real Estate journey. I feel it's important to know my background first, as you may feel the same way! I think it's also important to mention that I firmly believe that NO brokerage is a "one size fits all". ΓEA⅃ isn't for everyone, just like KW, ExP, or a boutique brokerage isn't for everyone.
I started my Real Estate career with Keller Williams. No regrets whatsoever. I took advantage of all the training they had to offer, and I learned a lot. I capped two out of the three years I was there. I was on the ALC (Agent Leadership Council), serving as head of the Education Committee.
I ultimately decided that I outgrew them. Not only did I feel that I was giving them more than I was getting, I felt that they were falling behind the times. (Video and Social Media were really starting to take off).
I left for a small firm that one of my co-workers at Keller Williams started. It was a "pay per transaction" type firm. No CRM, website, etc. But I only had to pay $300 per transaction! I honestly felt that I was home, and I would NEVER switch brokerages every again. I mean....$300 a pop, and no monthly fees? I wasn't going anywhere. LOL This was in 2018.
Fast forward to 2022. I'm happy at my firm. I teach marketing classes, social media classes, and consistently in the top 5 in sales (by then this firm had several offices with about 150 agents). But I start meeting other agents through social media that belong to this ΓEA⅃ company. And the things they're doing on Social Media!! Video in particular. I'm impressed. But $300 per transaction!!! I start crunching numbers. I realized that I only had to sell 9-10 houses at my price point to cap. Then I start thinking about passive income. Stocks, rev share, etc. Let's face it - I don't want to have to still sell Real Estate in my 70s! And at my old firm, I would have had to do that because there was no rev share option, stock options, etc.
As I said earlier, I don't really want to get into all the numbers. Here is a link where you can get all that info. From the research I've done, they have the best split/cap option.
The biggest reason I joined ΓEA⅃ was because I wanted to be at the bottom again. I needed room to grow. I want to EARN the right to teach classes. You see, at ΓEA⅃ you have to earn "Elite" status in order to do that. Elite status is closing x number of homes after you have capped.
And these online classes??? WOW! The Real Academy Library is PACKED with the "best of the best". Anytime I have some down time, I am scrolling through watching replays.
Oh, and the technology!! We now have our own e-signature software, and an AI assistant! (Still a work in progress, but excited to see what it will be able to do) I am fully confident that they will continue to stay on top of technology. They also offer Chime, which is a full CRM and customizable website for a deep discount ($40 a month)
The onboarding process was seamless. They provide you with everything you need to get started, including marketing material. I'll be honest, being a cloud based brokerage did take me a minute to get used to. However, they have several avenues of communication. We use Workplace and Work Chat. Workplace is wonderful, as there are several groups you can join. You will automatically be in your state group.
If you made it this far down, thanks for listening! If I had to sum this all up, I decided to join for 2 reasons - 1) Growth and 2) Passive Income. At the time of writing this, I have now been with Real for 5 months, and feel it was the best decision for myself and my family.
Always feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
